A product we have been working on for many years...
We have built several working prototypes, some of which you see in action here.
site: http://spnkix.com/

Interestingly enough, a lot of the inspiration for this product comes from experience with fashion. Wearability is a common theme in my products, as evidenced by the Acton Treadway bag line available here: http://www.actontreadway.com/

  • this could be the beginning of something amazing. I'm thinking we incorporate these as the power source for a whole new line of gadgets. i.e. motorized skateboards/scooters, fans, etc. Also, they might work as portable treadmills if you were to run them in reverse. that would be awesome for virtual reality video games as a walking analog

  • @bullfrogeth I like this type of thinking. Some of the prototypes have regenerative braking which also led us to consider what it could do if it were run in reverse or with resistance. Time will tell how many applications we use this tech for.

  • id like to see him get through airport security with that thing on his foot. ahh,, its a motor really!!

  • @colbycous01 well, the prototypes look a little scary but I have flown many times with these... I just have to put them in a suitcase. There is no battery belt anymore- they are in the shoes.

  • I'd be more interested to know how far these things can go in a single full charge, how fast they can go and finally how much before i start jumping up and down in excitement.
