@honeegrrl They were underrated and underappreciated in general to be honest even in the UK, the homebase of most of the band. I recall an interview where they indirectly said that much of the thunder was stolen by Jamiroquai. They weren't resentful but it was as if the mainstream only had place for one funk and soul influenced pop act in the 90s.

She is the lead singer. Her name is N'Dea Davenport. Her voice always made songs by the Brand New Heavies HOT!

I KNOW, RIGHT! Some Americans (but not me) are so hooked on artists that are superficial and use gimmicks (read: AutoTune) just to get by in music to compensate for their lack of musical talent. Some do this.
