The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be headless with the resignation of Randy Babbitt, the director, after the arrest was the subject of the weekend on charges of driving while intoxicated.

The Washington Post reports that Babbitt said in a statement that does not allow anything to "cast a shadow" on the work done by colleagues at the agency. Babbitt, 65, was arrested Saturday in Fairfax City, Virginia, by a trooper who said he was driving in the opposite direction.
According to CNN, Ray LaHood, Transportation Secretary Babbitt and Chief, accepted the resignation.
