Moshe Kai Cavalin: 11-Year-Old Half Chinese Graduates college

Moshe Kai Cavalin, 11, graduates with honors from East Los Angeles Community College with a Associate Arts degree in Liberal Studies this week, but just don't call him a genius.



"I consider myself a regular kid who works hard and does his best," says this only child of a Taiwanese mother and an Israeli father.

When Cavalin started college at the age of 8, he may have been the youngest person in class, but he ended up tutoring some of his 19- and 20-year-old classmates in math and science. Cavalin was one of 3 in the school graduating with a 4.0 GPA.

Astrophysics is his passion. Albert Einstein and Bruce Lee are among his idols.

Yet like a twist out of a Hollywood action flick, Cavalin combines his exceptional smarts with fearsome martial arts abilities: The preteen has won numerous national martial arts championships.

Up next for the tireless boy wonder: In the next take six months to a year he plans to devote himself to martial arts, write a book for kids on how to succeed in school, and take up scuba diving.

Not on the agenda: playing video games.

"I feel it's a waste of time playing video games because it's not helping humanity in any way," says the 11-year-old, who wants to use his knowledge to change the world.

@ImperialGuard9001 Give me a break with this crap! Judaism is a religion, one can be Jewish by being a follower of Judaism, or one can be Jewish by birth, ethnic origins. I'm afraid I do know the truth. I was born a Jew, and I will die a Jew, who happens to be Christian. If God has nothing to do with the state of Israel, than explain why she has been successful in protecting herself from all her enemies,which from a logistical standpoint should not have been.I was from an Orthodox background.

@Menechem You are either Christian or Jew you can not be both. If you are then you neither Jew or Christian. Christianty in early days was persecuted by Jews that find "heresy" and Christ a hoax since he was not the Messiah and certnily not God! For Judaism that his hard line monotheism is like a defienace against God and ideolotry. If you dont know such things then I am afraid you hardly knew the Truth.God has nothing to do with a Modern Israel.

@RedMangoo Are you serious??? The kids plays piano, knows martial arts, scuba dives, writes his own books, etc. He does more in one day than most lazy kids who sit on their buttts do in their entire childhood. I hardly think this kid is lacking any childhood experience that I wouldn't want for my kid or myself for that matter. Nothing sad about it.

@JlBBERJABBERZ Strangly enougth being Jew is still see as a nation and religion you can ask Jews for this. How many times Jews parents dont want their children to marry Genties? The Jews see themselfs as Gods Chosen so is partialy a religious thing and partialy a ethnic one. If Jews werent like this they had dissapear long time ago integrated into maiority societies were they were always part of. Both Jews themselfs distinct and separate from others.
