Really??? High school - 2nd most yards ever in American high school football by a player (at the time). College - finished with 58 Florida school records. NFL - finished with career rushing yards record and career rushing TD's record.

All because of blocking? Even if it was, I'll take Emmitt with a great O-line over anyone else with a bad O-line. You play as a team. You really can't EVER separate a player's success from his team, whether it be Emmitt, Brady, Montana, Rice, Marino, Elway, etc.

yes, barry sanders constantly put his team in 2nd and long / 3rd and long situations. Sure, he had a lot of long runs, and his positives far outweighed his negatives, but Barry Sanders, at the end of the day, was an undisciplined back who resisted running where the plays were designed to be run. He'd pass up holes in search of the breakaway gain. That running style wouldn't have worked in Dallas. Great runner, but not the greatest running back.

You can keep your Barry Sanders and your 0 Super Bowl Championships. I'll gladly keep Emmitt Smith, 3 Super Bowl wins as the price to pay to hear you whine about how much better Barry Sanders was. In the end, I'm happier than you are. End of debate.

I am sorry, but I am a massive LSU fan from Louisiana and I am so sick of him not getting the respect he deserves!!! If the offensive line for Dallas was so GREAT, why arent any of the offensive linemen in the Cowboys' Ring of Honor, much less the NFL Hall of Fame?!? GREAT players are in these 2 halls right? Yes, Larry Allen will be induced to the NFL Hall of Fame this year, but Emmitt had THREE rushing titles before he got to Dallas!!! Emmitt was a GREAT all-around RUNNING BACK, period!!!

Hey you Gator alumni... my Cowboys were lucky as hell Smith was barely 5'9" because if he were 6' he would've been a top 5 pick right or wrong? The Cowboys were sure blessed he fell to 17. Smith had one hell of a career at Florida. Smith was a great leader type player thats been missing on the Cowboy roster for years now.

I call Barry Sanders Larry because his fans talk about him like he never had a liemen make a block for him. Sanders was one of the best ever but they make him Jesus and say Smith is just some shithead that had a line that made holes trucks could drive through so I bust their chops calling Sanders.... Larry.
