Dr. Airsoft of Airsoft Medicine reviews the Revision Military Desert Locust and Wolfspider tactical goggles for use in airsoft. The lenses can withstand a direct hit, but there is a vulnerable seal around the sides of the nose if these goggles are combined with some wire mesh face masks. There is no bb penetration when the goggles are used in combination with the Hakkotsu Iron Face plastic lower face mask.

Being honest, I have to report that I regularly receive new reports of accidental discharges at games which are at close range. Most documented eye injuries occured at short range (Kratz A - Am J Ophthalmol - 01-JAN-2010; 149(1): 37-44). One incident occured within 4 feet at a Fort Ord game. It is documented in NAM magazine, issue 11. These injuries should never happen. Using gear that can take a close hit is the way to prevent the most common serious eye injuries.

  • So the Revision Locusts and the hakkotsu iron face have no gap between the goggle and the mask, unlike the Flakjak goggles and the Hakkotsu Iron face?

  • Do the black bear raider lower face masks works well with the bullet ant goggles? Also how much do these goggles fog up?

    Thanks.

  • @Sp3eDyTuRtLe They will only fit if they sit very close to your head all the way around.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup will my glass es fit under the locust

  • Kinda Pricey :\

  • @auburnmedicalgroup alright thank you i will continuing looking around to see if they fit with glasses

  • @PararescueAirsoft

The Desert Locust comes with notches for inserting a very basic frame to hold standard sized round lenses. You have to get the lenses for the Revision frames from your Optometrist. It is a little expensive. I have seen people play with them during games, but I have never asked how much it cost.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup oh so it would bassicallhy be like glass lenses built in? sounds to expensive

  • @PararescueAirsoft

I have never done it, but I would first try to contact Revision Military at their website and then work with my optometrist.

  • @auburnmedicalgroup were would i get prescription inserts
