@TransAmDrifter I ended up being able to get a A6 C5 2.8 just last year. It has the automatic box so it wasn't my first choice, but i couldn't pass up the deal. There are chips though to help out with the transmission and the horrible power curve in that engine though that I might be looking at soon. Right now, I just have to deal with next to no power in the low RPM's...

If I'll sell my golf, I plan to buy myself an A6 C4 2.5TDI Quattro Avant... I also thought about D2, but I hate automatic boxes.

@TransAmDrifter i wish, I have an old 86 Audi 5000 s avant. It's a front wheel drive, so missing the quattro, but it does have the inline 5, but no turbo on it :(

@TransAmDrifter Haha, we have the same thing here in the U.S. in terms of electronics. It once took me close to a month to fix an ignition problem I had in my old 86 5000s. Turns out one broken piece of plastic was throwing the whole thing off. Had a piece of plastic stuck in my HAL sensor...

@redbull89123 working on it is cool when You have extra place in garage, lotsa spare time, special bought or diy-prepped tools and people who know how to set-up all the electronics... we in Poland call them "magicians" ;)

@TransAmDrifter Yeah, I guess you could do that, it would cost a pretty penny though to fly to the UK and then have a car shipped back if you check out the car before you buy it. I kind of also like the idea of spending tons of hours working on it to kind of really make it yours...

@TransAmDrifter agreed. Someday when I get the money, I'm going to buy a coupe body and transplant the 20v 5 cylinder in there since we never got the S2here in the US. We seem to never get the really good toys here from audi...

yeah, but it lacks good old looks and it's filled with electronics... IMHO it's just newer generation and thus it's not matching the older ones.
