The Saint Thomas Christians are a group of Christians from the Malabar coast (now Kerala) in South India, who follow Syriac Christianity. (Syro - Malabar & Syro - Malankara Catholic Churches, Malankara Syrian Orthodox [Jacobite] Church & Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Marthoma Syrian Church, Church of the East, Independent Church of Thozhyoor, St. Thomas Evangelical Church)
The different groups and denominations within the St Thomas Christians together form the Nasrani people. Their tradition goes back to the very beginnings of first century Christian thought and the seven churches that are believed to have been established by St. Thomas the Apostle.

  • @myspaceLOVERZ No, we are not Catholic, but there are a few denominations that split from us and became Catholic due to the Portuguese persecution. Did you not hear in the video when they said the language spoken was in Aramaic/Syriac? It is no way Latin, so it is not Catholic. The priests were wearing clothes that is worn by priests in the Middle East. It is Syriac Christianity, which is primarily in the Middle East and the Indian state of Kerala. We have Semitic ancestry from the Middle East.

  • @mhuancayo Don't you see when it says Syrian Christian in the title of this video? How is that Catholic? We are under Eastern Orthodoxy and our headquarters are in Antioch and Damascus. We have nothing to do with the Catholic church. We follow the original Aramaic Christian liturgy not Latin. The only pure form of Christianity is Middle Eastern, that's where Christianity started in the first place. We have been Christians for two thousand years that is why we are connected with the Middle East.

  • do you know what catholic means .it means universal so we are christians but only one church not one of the 36,000 protestants churches

  • @mhuancayo then why does it says "christian" on the video?

  • @myspaceLOVERZ yea its catholic what else could be ,.God bless you brothers

  • @myspaceLOVERZ dumb question!

  • @myspaceLOVERZ why did jesus wear a tunic and robe? why did mary wear a head covering? why did the russian christians wear bear skin hats? why did the mexican christians wear sombreros?

  • this looks like catholic stuff, not christian stuff
