Artist - The Four Tops
Song - Ask The Lonely
(Lyrics)

(Just ask the lonely)
When you feel that you can make it alone
Remember no one is big enough to go it alone
Just ask the lonely
They know the hurt and pain
Of losing a love you can never regain
(Just ask the lonely)
Just ask the lonely
The young and foolish let
Their love sway and run away
How buckle and sure that fate
Will bring another love their way
But ask the lonely
How how badly a heart will burn
I want you to know that will never return
(Just ask the lonely)
Just ask the lonely
They will tell you
They'll tell you a story of sadness
A story too hard to believe
And tell you the loneliest one is me
(Just ask the lonely)
Just ask the lonely
Ask me
I am the loneliest one, you'll SEE

  • While shopping yesterday, I heard this on the muzak- I hadn't heard it in years and years- I could still feel my eyes tearing up- Levi Stubbs rules...

  • fantastic four tops.

  • There are certain songs that evoke sadness and melancholy - this is on of them. Many thanks for uploading this beauty.

  • Circa 1965 Belle Isle park Detroit. Whether it was the sound of motown or the sweet Georgia voice of Ernie Harwell coming out of the transistor radios of the day, it was special. Throwing aside the perpetuated differences between the races, brought on by politicians, we all knew something special was going on. Enjoying a laugh, beer, or hot dog while listening to music we all could be proud of and enjoy was something only people in the trenches could understand. I thank ALL for the memories.

  • "There's no beatitude for the lonesome. The BOOK don't say they're blessed".-street preacher from MIDNIGHT COWBOY

    I think there should be.

I will petition the Lord with prayer.

  • @57Will It is a great song, they were an excellent 4 some who's music is timeless.

I'm sorry Will, I understand your pain. I hope you are able to start moving forward in some ways, small changes can help too. Do your best everyday.
