Since 1970 Syria is governed by a one-party state without free elections, between (1970-2000) general Hafez al-Assad was the president, after him his son has been controlling the country for the last 11 years. In Syria the secret police has the authority to arrest and torture whoever demands basic human rights or freedom of speech, according to "Human Rights Watch" in 2010, Bashar al-Assad had failed to improve Syria human rights record
Since 15th of March 2011, Protest Movements have started across Syria demanding freedom, justice and reforms
Syrian regime response was extremely violent against protesters, bringing death toll more than 300 citizens, including children. Only on Friday 22th of April more than 80 protesters were killed , most of them have been deadly shot at the neck, chest, or head.

In spite of the killing violent peaceful demonstrations are still continuing
