CNC Woodturning on modern hydraulic CNC lathe. Travel speed is slow because of the nature of the wood species. ( very hard hickory )Spindle speed is fast about 1100 rpm.

  • Those 2 parallel metal pieces ( V shaped ) sitting just behind the work piece are the blades. Not sharp on the front but the bottoms are razor like.

    Thanks for looking.

  • But hand carved is hand carved not a cnc.

  • We also hand turn and have been doing so for many years. CNC just allows exact duplications when doing hundreds or thousands of pieces.

  • how much hp have the main motor of the lathe

  • Hi Senorbat.

    4 HP motor 230 volt , 3 phase

  • where are the blades ,,, ?

  • @MrLeonard55 cnc is not cheating it makes work faster so products can be cheaper ........ if a hand carve bed was 500 it can now be 300

  • Actually bowls can be turned on a computerized lathe

  • i dislike this stuff---at least, try to avoid cnc in woodturning :)

your computers can't do bowls, vessels, vases...

  • CNC is cheating.

  • the wood is continuesly pushing right? how come it is locked to spin and move at the same time?
