I cried when I saw that image of Dukie shooting heroin......so much potential just flushed down the toilet. One of the biggest tragedies of the whole series :(

@Budaphly Prez did enough for Duke. Like the principal said, they aren't his kids, and year after year there will be people like Dukie and he can't just adopt them all.
I personally wouldn't give the kid the money knowing where it will go, to drugs. He wants a rent check, or the check for the GED program, that I could do.

Its really sad. Prez knows just what hes going to be doing with the money, but its like a good bye. Also financially. Junkies can think you're a bank if you don't let them know whats up. So he told he that if he didn't see him there then they weren't friends anymore and to never come back.
I love the wire's character development. Pistol whipping a kid to a somewhat wise teacher.
