Its definitely Rajni. He is not just a TAMIL superstar like this narrator says...every Mallu (like me), tamilian, telugu, kannadiga, some Japanese, malaysians etc watch his movies. That definitely does not apply to Big B , whose films appeal only to a Hindi speaking population. Some japs had come down to chennai to watch Baba in its first week. Now you tell me who is bigger. Hindi is just a regional language buddy :-)

@vakkachan007 i don't know anything about the south indian industry or any of it's actors but you're quite disregardful in saying big b's films (that is bollywood films) only appeal to the hindi speaking population, bollywood is watched through many parts of india and worldwide, hindi films have a great worldwide audience and not to mention (i won't say names) that bollywood actors are the most known of india's actors.

@vakkachan007(contd 4m prvious rply) 2010, AB was named the list of CNN’s “top 25 Asian actors of all time”. Rajini wasn't der. Stop thinking that K'wood is more popular than B'wood. B'wood is a term that every1 knows. Movie in south r watchd like nything again n again. Movies r more than life there. Its not in North. Rajini acts in same kind of formula movie vich run in every village of South. Small town(ex vellore) in south has 15-20 theatres. Similar city in north has not more than 5-7.

@vakkachan007 (contd from previous reply) Its only now (after Robot) that people have started talking abt Rajini in North. Robot was a good movie with good direction and Aish, thats why it was a hit in north. Sivaji was also released in North which was super flop. Rajni was also there in 80's, when Amitabh was the highest paid actor. Rajini struggled to get even sidehero role in Bollywood. Hindi is not a regional language buddy, all except 4 states speak Hindi. Population of UP = 2.5(TN).

@vakkachan007 I dont agree with you....its about time. Its only now that Rajinikanth is having such fan following. Nowadays, even Ranbir kapoor's movies do far better than Amitabh Bacchan's. So does that mean RK is better than Big B?? And you count the countries..do you think Hindi movies are watched only in North India?? Just get good statistics first. Go to Pakistan (20 cr population) and ask if they know/like Amitabh or Rajini more. Europe/US has more Bollywood viewers than Tolly/Kollywood.

@curiben because amitab fans are ordinary through out india but rajni fans are ordinary in north india and extraordinary in south india... amitab is seen as an actor by indians.. but rajni is seen as god in south india.. and dat devotion towards rajni made madrasi die-hard fans of rajni and many recognize in dat way..
