It was Al Kent who composed this at Golden World Studios, (Motown Studio B) and as said already, he did the Ric-Tic single of it on RT 127 which I have. There were certainly members of Motown's Funk Brothers too. He also produced the version that the Supremes did too!

Didn't she, also, make a song titled: Walking with my new love ??
-
I haven't heard this in tooooooooo long. Thanks

Bloke from Great Harwood put us on to this this. He was reputed to have had his throat cut in Miami in 1974. Trying hard to to remember his name. He was years ahead of the game. He still remains a northern soul enigma in Harwood. God, my memory is shite... it'll come to me soon ;-((

Gloria Taylor Vocal To Al Kent Classic Usa, Silver Fox, Fox # 14, 1969
and i always thought it came out on the red ric tic label that was what i had it on ?

Another interesting post. Her attack is so relaxed, a departure from other tracks.
I remember this tune, but didn't connect the vocalist. I prefer Ms. Taylor openly expressing herself freely, not working a formula [right down to the modulation].
Still, any exposure for Gloria Taylor rocks.

Beautiful and underrated!

Thank you soln4suhreborn. I should have known the funk brothers were somewhere involved. This song may not have been a big hit; but this song you can feel, one of the best! Thank you for the info! peace!
What was the name of her band? I can't find that out anywhere. The best bands of all times were Willie Mitchell with the Memphis sound, (Al Green), James Jamerson with "Motown". This band definitely is in third. I love this band!!

The track was produced in Detroit,so my guess is the Ric-Tic/Golden World sessionmen. maybe some of the Funk Brothers (Motown) thrown in there too. Mc Kinley Jackson (who would be a sessionman and arranger at Invictus/Hot Wax) had some involvement with this tune as well.
