*NOTE*~This is it! Possibly, no, DEFINITELY the best number in the entire show. It's worth going to see Beauty and the Beast if only for this, though the non-professional theatre companies and high schools are nowhere near as spectacular as the Broadway show. Though the singing here is great, I admit you're better off trying to find a video of the show than just listening to the singing and some music with some applause scattered in. The choreography, featuring a tumbling rug, a chorus line of napkins, a pirouetting pair of salt and pepper shakers, and much more are simply outstanding. Not to mention the bright lights, superb costumes, Lumiere's natural cabaret flair and Cogsworth's failed attempts to stop the show are to die for. The champagne bottles that fire smoke, fireworks or confetti (for some reason I remember it doing all three the second time I saw it) at the end are a nice touch. I distinctly remember the applause at the very end going on for at least five minutes when I saw the show before it closed.
