umm ram doesnt have phisical memory that you can store stuff in. If anything the program is just boosting the programs pryority to use more ram on that specific program. You can do the same in windows.

How can I tell if it's running? I don't see it in services?

All you have to do is install it and it takes care of the rest. if it was installed properly you should be able to find it in your system monitor with all the other running processes.

I looked in my system monitor and I don't think I see it, would it be listed as preload? Sorry to be a pain

Yes it should be listed as preload. you could try to reinstall it and see if that helps.

One more thing. in your system monitor go to view and select all processes.
