Katoomba Scenic Railway is 52 degrees which is about 125 percent grade. Lookout Mtn is 72 percent grade not degrees. That's about 35-36 degrees, much less steep. Lookout Mtn is unlikely to even be in the top ten steepest railways. Look at some of the Japanese mountain lines, or English cliff railways. Some of those are certainly steeper than Lookout Mtn.
