Helicopter. Wellington, FL

In February my friend, Chris Hanz, and I got a ride in a helicopter to shoot footage of the town of Wellington, Florida, and the Polo Club there.

It was my first time being in a helicopter, let alone shooting in one. Let me tell you, they have those gyro stabilizers for a reason. I was shooting completely handheld, and I was shaking all over the place.

In post I ran Final Cut's SmoothCam filter over the footage. It works well, however the shakier the footage the closer in the filter zooms, and the more quality you lose. I decided that the effects of the filter were more interesting to see than lower quality footage, so I forced the filter to zoom out, which is why you see the crazily moving frame from time to time.

The shots progress from the outlying polo fields, to the many gated communities of Wellington, to the Polo Club where you can see spectators stomping the divots at half time. The final shot is an actual polo match being played.

@frankdipento Dude whats wrong with wellington?When i lived there growing up as a kid in 2001-2003 I loved it.Nothing bad that i know of ever happend there.
