The damage done by the Luftwaffe during the 3 nights blitz in 1941, is nothing compared to the decades of utter ruination by the planners. The clearance of the heart of the old town after the blitz left a blank canvas. With a little flair and foresight, they could've created a picturesque, welcoming, european pedestrianized style, lush green town centre. Instead they went for concrete monstrosities and wide roads. Castle Gardens shouldn't have been turned into a skate park either!!

trees in the city and parks are being cut down at hell of a rate and the council has sold off all the playing fields, the stadium has now got a shopping center on it and a green field site has been sold and the swansea city football club has placed an monstrosity of a stadium on it.

Swansea is a total fuck up curtesy of the most corrupt council in the country anything thats green or living eg sand dunes, pidgeons, seagulls trees ect has been removed or destroyed by them.

Shopping is shit in swansea the council is corrupt they remove important things in swansea destroyed forever example worlds oldest railway the railway bridge over oystermouth rd, the noweigian church they removed the sand dunesoff beaches they pasted concreate over everything removed castle gardens they then removed all the roundabouts place cams and traffic lights everywhere totally screwed up the road system they also placed a dump at port tennant next to a natural bog largest in the country.

I'm from and love Swansea, but the council is spending money in the wrong places. Sort out High street and the surrounding area around the train station. Move the fucking scraps, heroin addicts and pissheads from the first point of contact people have with Swansea as soon as they get off the train and a message to those who ask me everytime i come home - No I don't have money to pay for a train fare to neath. Get a fuckin job and stop begger for beer money.

I spent a lot of time in Swansea between 1987-1994, never thought it was that bad. Though when you're living in a village with perhaps 20 houses it did seem like a big place. I was amazed at the changes I saw of Swansea on Google maps.
