Original Epic Records #50374

Released in 1977, but did NOT chart.

The E Street Band is Bruce Springsteen's backing band, and features the late legendary Clarence Clemons on Tenor Sax.
This record features the fabulous SOAP sound which was defined by Clemons's sax!
(SOAP = The Sound Of Asbury Park).

Written by Billy Joel
Arranged and Produced by Sugar Miami Steve
(real name Steven Van Zandt)

Ronnie Spector was the lead singer of the Ronnettes, and was married to record producer Phil Spector.

This record was purchased at Jack's Records in Red Bank, New Jersey - today known as Jack's Music.
Located about 8 miles from Asbury Park and 10 miles from E-Street in Belmar (just south of Asbury Park).

This is the original mono mix as heard when this was a huge hit on AM Top 40 radio on stations like WABC New York.

  • Is there anyway we can hear the b side of this single? I've been wanting to hear Steve's "Baby Please Don't Go" forever.

  • Good request!

I'll try to get it recorded when I do my next upload.

    Stay tuned!
