Strong thunderstorm West St.Louis County

i woke up just in time. I was watching the news and they had the watch box over STL so i turned to the weather channel and went to weather.com to analyze to radar. I thought that the strip mall in chesterfield valley would be the right place based on the movement of the most intense convection,( the same strip mall i camped to get a ps3) I really lucked out I got down there just when the storm did.There was intense could to ground lightning ( setting car alarms off too :) ) and winds gusting to (in my estimation) 40 MPH ( I have no confirmation on this but there was some debris flying across the road just as I entered the strip mall and the rain was coming down horizontally. It wasn't a white out,

but It seemd similar to the conditions I experianced on the outer fringes of Hurricane Dennis while on vacation in FT.Lauderdale 2 yrs ago. ( wind gusts to 60 mph sustained at 30. the core was ~250 miles west of lauderdale)

Unfortuantly some moisture fogged up my lense so some of it may be cloudy but man that was intense ( I need to be more careful driving while filming though I was just a tad reckless)

Was the storm in the morning or at night ?

Would've been scary to be outside in it, like at Six Flags or something

A tip...most chasers don't go alone, and also, they have a camera mount on the dash, so they can swivel the camera about without having to hold it.

Was this the storm which caused thousands of power outages and also caused Ameron UE to be critisized? If so, I remember being on the road during this. The front looked so severe!

Then the next day seemed like the hottest, without power either.

unfotunatly this was not that front. I was actually in Mexico when that came through (although I would have loved to have seen it )
