@rioross If I wanted to bring an Alero into the 14s, first, it'll have to be the V6 one... afterwards, If I had a place to put it, I'd remove any excess weight, like the seats, etc. then I'd do full catback exhaust, intake, headers, and then i'd snatch up some lighter weight rims\steelies with decent rubber, and maybe even shorten the tire height, depending on gearing. And then the most important mod... Practice.
@rioross 16+ is slow. 15s is semi-slow. 14s is respectable, 13s is quick, 12s and under is fast. lol The Alero V6 one should be capable of doing high 14s if the modifications are done correctly. You could supercharge the 2.4L, but... meh. idk if it would be worth doing it, it would probably go into the 14s, since I believe those 2.4L 4 cyl are like 17s stock. My friend has an 01 Alero 2.4L... Its a nice car to own and live with, repairs are generally straightforward but its not fast by any means
@mixmasterkenshin Looks like you might have to be the one who does some research. Those "tornado" and "vortex" little supercharger things you buy on eBay are scams. There's dyno tests online to prove it. You'd get a better increase in horsepower by just changing your oil instead of using that snake oil-turbo bullshit. You don't need to be ASE certified to have common sense. Although its obviously not common, since the majority of people don't have it.
I dont have any actual expereance with the tornado or vortex, but the seem plausable, and unless any one has had expereance, with the same motor, say the 2.4L in question, they should do there research, rather than what G.M. says or any other manufacturer, ASE and all that dosent mean alot, its just papers that say you passed a test. Dont go showboating that you are certified, it makes you look stuck up, not like some big shot. And that stock intake on the 2.4L yeah, it sucks ive got a 99 2.4L
Im a GM ASEP student at Fresno City College in California..... To create a Vortex, an engine sucks in air and atomizes it in the plenum!!!! Its all in the 14.7:1 ratio.....
K&N works great if kept oiled but will distroy your MAF sensor in some vehicles like pre 05 GM trucks!!!!! Oh yea....The LD9 and other car intakes have mufflers to eliminate that awsome sound.....
@oDTheTruth will an exhaust a smaller, lighter wheels give my 2 seconds? (with the right practice)

That "turbo like" sound u hear comes from the k&n intake and not from the tornado. I only have a filter (3.4 engine) and i get that sound too.
That tornado looks like total bullshit.
