Boatz was a Southern pop/rock quartet which featured Pete Carr (of LeBlanc & Carr fame). They released their only album in July of 1979 on Capricorn Records. "It Was Only The Radio", their only charted single, missed Billboard's Hot 100 chart and settled for a peak position of #107 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. Did this pop ballad deserve a better chart fate? I would say so.
Wow. This is great to hear. I bought this album back in the day. There was another great track on this. I think it was called "Gone So Long" and had a great ending with a Beach Boys feel to it. Thanks for the post.

Thanks for putting this out. Same story for me as the Rebecca Hall tune -- I've seen the title in the Bubbling Under book for years and always wanted to hear it. Not a bad tune!
