What, you got to be kidding me! Disney always puts alot of bonus features on their Blu Ray and DVD releases of their films and now they decided to go opposite. How stupid, that's laziness!
-
I have to be honest, I agree with you all the way. I have no interest in switching over to blu-ray.
-
I have the Diamond Edition DVD of The Lion King. I really enjoy watching that DVD. I know it only feature the Original Theatrical Version which I prefer better cause I like the movie the way it is. I pretty much don't care about the Bonus Features. All I interested is the restoration and the changes they made. I plannin' to get the Blu-Ray after I get a PS3 Console

@PatrickButler21 Yeah, just my opinion. But that's the beauty of America; we are each entitled to our own opinions. Peace to you as well.
-
@giggleblaggle That is all I got to say. If you want to comment about what I said, do so. Peace.
-
@giggleblaggle BTW, it isn't always about quality. It's also about having these bonus features no matter what quality it's in. There is nothing wrong with SD video. Plus, there will always be SD video even if we go full HD soon. Film can be remastered in HD, not tape. Tape can only be upconverted to 1080p, but those tapes will always be SD video. Upconversion will never give you full HD video even though it does make video look better. See, this isn't about higher quality, it's about quantity.

@giggleblaggle The Blu-Ray is still good, but it could have been better. The DVD that will be released this tuesday is no way better then the Platinum Edition release back in 2003. The Platinum Edition release beats the 2011 DVD release hands down, it's not even close. I still recommend the Blu-Ray, but I recommend getting the Platinum Edition for getting the classic bonus features. There are hard core collectors that still get DVD's and also get Blu-Ray's.
-
@giggleblaggle The only thing I ranted about the Blu-Ray was that it didn't have the classic bonus features on the disc, you can only see them if you have BD Live. The DVD that is going to be released this tuesday will be a 1 disc and I was unhappy with that because I felt it was a lazy way to get people to upgrade to Blu-Ray, it's also a single layer disc which means Disney doesn't care about DVD anymore. Disney needs to allow people to decide for themselves if they want to upgrade to Blu-Ray.
-
@PatrickButler21 I think that most hard core collectors will likely want to upgrade to Blu-Ray anyway. Hard core collectors don't want to stay behind the times, at least as far as I know. You get the same bonus features, and in higher quality, with the Blu-Ray. I don't understand why any hard core collector would want to stick with an old school DVD. I suppose a double disc DVD release would have been more appropriate, but it really isn't worth complaining about from a collector's point of view.
-
I think Disney doesn't really CARE about putting alot of bonus features on the DVD.
-
@SonicTheJackrabbit MINE WAS A DIFFERENT RANT AND WAS NOT RELEATED TO HIS. If you like just the movie without the bonus features, then fine. There are people out there that are big DVD collectors and want alot of bonus features. This DVD edition is a slap in the face to people that just want to collect DVD's and not Blu-Ray's. BTW, this rant was not the same as HomeOfTheGoodGuys because I still recommend the Blu-Ray even though it's flawed.
-
The Daimond Editon of The Lion King is worth a lot to me. Why? The crystal clear quality. And not because how many Special Features they have
-
some people do not care about bonus features just want the movie, that's why the dvd version is just fine, its also a lot cheaper
-
The Fantasia Blu-ray was the same way; the classic DVD features are available on BD-live only.
-
The Diamond Editions are now rush-jobs unfortunately, ever since the "Bambi" Blu-ray came out. I know they want you to do that Second Screen thing for the bonus features. It's kinda cool, but it's lazy. I was disappointed with the "Bambi" Diamond Edition because of the lack of bonus features on the disc itself, and it seems like TLK is that way too. Also, Patrick, what do you think of Disney having the film title on the left side of the artwork?
-
@PatrickButler21 you're right. You did rant about it. I'm so sorry. I wanted to say it before I finished the video so I don't forget what I wanted to say. Hahahaha. Once again I'm sorry.
-
@mrlegoman11 I did rant about it. Both Blu-Ray and DVD should have had the classic bonus features on them, but they don't. This was the most disappointing thing about the Blu-Ray and DVD.
-
Don't rant about that! Rant about the fact that the classic dvd features aren't on the new dvd!!!!! It's insane!!!!! Disney pisses me off sometimes!!!!!!!! With all the gimmicks!!! I don't care what they do, I'm not converting to blu ray. And they shouldn't make people want to convert to blu ray for speacial features on thr classic dvd that should BE ON THE NEW DVD!!!!!!
-
@Manafichu It's the same cover art that is on the DVD disc.
-
WAIT! MAYBE THE BLU RAY DVD is gonna be different than the retail version. CHECK AMAZON FOR THE BONUS FEATURES!
-
The RANT FILES lol
-
good rant yo
-
@NateJ2100 I know he's got it.
Jesus christ, you sound just like fucking HomeoftheGoodGuys, NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE BONUS FEATURES!!!! IT'S THE MOVIE ITSELF AND THE AUDIO AND VIDEO QUALITY OF IT THAT MATTERS THE MOST! GROW UP YOU MORON!

@SonicTheJackrabbit The last thing I want to say is, The reason why I did this Rant was because I was unhappy with the way Disney did with it. It could have been better if Disney would have done the same thing with this release as they did with the other Diamond Editions. If Disney would have done this, I would have not ranted about this. You have been blocked for being rude to me. Good bye.
