Yes. Unfortunately, the other woman stripping in front of them takes the focus off of them and sheds a bad light on belly dance. However, the dancers are legitimate oriental dancers.

This is a very interesting thread considering all the back stories from the Dancers themselves.

I find myself pretty much immune to the skinny plastics of today - but I jst have to stop and LOOK when I see real voluptuous like these belly dancers who could MOVE as well.

Contrary to all this chatter................ my formal training was with Jamila Salimpour and Samia Nassar a very well known Middle Eastern dancer who worked at the Casbah in SF for years. Also had some private coaching with Nahed Sabry when she came to LA.

Interesting comments. The 3 of us were popular dancers on the Arabic cirquit in LA at the time, but it's true we didn't have proper Egyptian training-it wasn't available to us until a few years later. We all changed our styles dramatically as we had more access to teachers, videos & working overseas. Typical to Hollywood, we were hired for our youth & bodies, it's not about talent. I was just a youngster. This is a snippet of American Oriental dance at that time, warts & all.

HelenBlondelTV You've GOT to be kidding me. I watched it and hated it. The guys were putting money inside of the dancers' bras like they were strippers. And FYI, none of those girls were actually trained belly dancers. That video is degrading to dancers just as much, if not more, as this one is. But I do agree. It is clearly taken from the AMERICAN perspective of belly dance. If you wanna see real belly dance in Arabic movies, look up "Fifi Abdo nour el ayoun" or suheir zaki laylet hob"
