Invitation to the Birmingham Cancer Showcase

Description: Find out how we're fighting cancer in Birmingham at our Birmingham Cancer Showcase, taking place on Wednesday 10th April.

This free event gives visitors the chance to chat to our cancer research scientists and doctors, to understand more about how discoveries are being taken from the lab into treatments designed to benefit cancer patients. Come "behind the scenes" in our laboratories and tissue bank, with the chance to actually look at cancer cells under the microscope and have a go at being a scientist.

There will be a range of short talks on many interesting cancer topics, with local experts on hand to answer any questions. Learn more about the science behind the research with hands-on demonstrations and games, and try analysing tumour samples online.

In addition, Cancer Research UK nurses will share information on steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of cancer, with plenty of materials to take away.
