Jerry Cahill: Its Not About CF

In this behind-the-scenes look at the man who has become an inspiration to the CF community, Jerry discusses growing up with CF, how he broke the news about the disease to his former boss, and how he dealt with going on disability. The vidcast includes interviews with Jerry's former colleagues in the apparel industry, his doctor, his high school track coach, and the student-athletes he coaches today.

"There's no mantra, there's no secret formula" for living a full life, 53-year-old Jerry says. "I basically just attack the day." He emphasizes that "my life is not about CF. It's about me as an individual being strong-minded, strong-willed and pulling through."

Awesome stuff. You make it all look easy, but living with CF is a challenge! Doing a fantastic job inspiring people with CF or any disability to get out there and give life a fair run for it's money. And yes, there is life with CF as long as you get your priorities right!

Jerry. thank you. you just opened my eyes and made me realize I'm not doing something wrong by taking care of my son. 19 yrs old and doing great. he was just in hospital i had a nurse tell me i have to let go and stop taking care of him as i do. she really made me feel like i was doing wrong when all im trying to do is keep my son alive and love him as a mom should. I no longer feel like im doing wrong. thank you. you are an amazing man.
