Little spring in Petrópolis - was shot entirely in the spring of 2010 in Petropolis - Imperial City in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. The clip is meant to show the beauty of the harmonious coexistence of nature with the urban aspects. A balance which is increasingly threatened because it has become a detail that goes unnoticed, especially for the local population.

The question of "detail", led to the idea of showing the actual scenes as thumbnails, using the technique of "tilt shift" - digitally remaking the depth of field and creating a aspect of model for the appearance of the city. In contrast, the details of nature, although in actual size, ends up looking bigger, just growing in importance as we dream.

Still on the exploitation of natural elements, the highlights clip the flower is a symbol of Petropolis - the hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla), who largely disappeared from public roads in recent years. The species has a characteristic appear to be a patchwork of many small flowers, or a kaleidoscope. For this purpose, the very images of the city serve as elements to compose a digital kaleidoscope that will create amazing transitions to form a beautiful hydrangea flower.

The track is a remake of a classic of classical music: La Primavera, an integral part of the "Four Seasons " by Vivaldi. The new and exclusive arrangement uses the rhythm of "house music" and electronic instruments to represent the urban side with a blend of nature sounds captured during filming on the premises. In summary, more a tribute produced by Televisual Films to the beautiful city of Petropolis.

  • What that some sort of shutter speed trick? I love the effect. Almost looks computer generated. Thanks for posting.

  • @LostandFoundTravel We really appreciate your comment! The technique that changes the depth of field is called tilt shift. It makes everything seem like a model. The speed change and deletion of frames, complete the effect.
