This is not a wallet holster. The wallet holster has the slide covered making in AOW. This does not have the slide covered thus its legal and not in violation of sc 12020. A man used one of these in SD in LA. He was fine.

Thank you for your response. Though we have a letter from ATF approving the Grip-It as legal, we are working to find out if that overrides states DOJ rules or not. I am currently awaiting a response to CA DOJ Firearms dept and as soon as I do, I will post a response here. Thanks again for your concern. CA has so many more rules it's hard to keep up so we appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will be looking into it.

@regsands That is my worry as well, especially considering my 380 lacks a safety....

@CAConcealed "a "wallet gun" means any firearm mounted or enclosed in a case, resembling a wallet, designed to be or capable of being carried in a pocket or purse, if the firearm may be fired while mounted or enclosed in the case."
that kinda sounds like it fits the description. while it may be ok with the DOJ and ATF, california has more strict rules.
Unfortunatly this would create a huge legal issue here in Mo. If the gun is still in a holster when fired its illegal somehow, I heard a cop talking about this on a radio show where a guy called in an mentioned he had a holster like this.

@coop039
We have a letter from the ATF saying it is not an 'any other weapon' but states have their own laws, so be sure to be clear on your state's. And look into it yourself, cause there are a lot of myths out there...so dig and find the truth for yourself :)

Is there anything covering the trigger? I am not 100% comfortable if the trigger covered.

@regsands
There is nothing covering the trigger, you are correct. A lot of .380s do not have a safety and are double action with a long trigger pull making it harder to accidentally pull the trigger BUT you are right that you do have to be careful. One of the advantages of the holster is that it is real quick to access the trigger without 'de-holstering' but you do need make sure you draw the gun properly and don't put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire.
