Horten Nurflügel "AACHEN" in flight.
Designed by Dr. Reimar Horten in 1988.
Built by Christiani Wassertechnik GmbH, between 1992 - 1994, along classical lines used by Dr. Reimar Horten: wooden wings and steel tubing for the center section.
Aerodynamic testing in cooperation with the reputable University of Applied Science (RWTH) Aachen/Germany.
Received its provisional airworthiness certification on December 21st, 1994 (registration D-MUIS).
Maiden flight on January 27th, 1995.
Over 145 successful flight tests between January 1995 and September 1996.
Test pilots: First Flight Lieutenant Ferdinand Ollfisch of the German Air Force, Christian Kroll/certified aerospace workshop manager and trainer, Frank Vervoorst/President Aero Sport Club Moenchsheide, Aero Club Bad Breisig/Rhein
