Gtown Desi finally deliver their long awaited, debut album, "11:34".
The album itself is a definitive fusion of Urban and Asian genres drawing on each member's individual influences. Bhangra, Breakbeat, Bashment and R'n'B all feature strongly as the group aim to filter through Asian influenced music with a touch of Urban throughout the 13 track production. The debut single, 'Peerh' was instantly picked up on by the BBC Asian Network (playlist) as well as Radio 1 as the Breakbeat/Bhangra smash caught the attention of DJ's across all levels.
Nihal (Radio 1) - 'Some Proper Jump Bhangra!' 'An Incredible Track'
Friction featured the act as 'artist of the week' playing cuts from the album across the week during his BBC Asian Network show. Scotland's own Vic Galloway also featured 'Peerh' during BBC Introducing in Scotland. Zane Lowe then dropped the follow up radio single, 'Lok Tath' during his on air battle with Nihal on Radio 1.
Zane Lowe (Radio 1) - 'All sorts of influences put together brilliantly'
The debut video for 'Peerh' aired across Brit Asia and has recently made its way across You Tube. Shot within Glasgow's gritty urban setting, the production is a direct reflection of the group's cultural influence featuring an entire Glasgow based cast choreographed by a former Destiny's Child affiliate.
Artists which feature on the album include Nikitta (X-Factor), as well as Kobi Onyame (BBC 1xtra), Charlene, Gift & Miss Elii representing the Scottish acts. A host of international artists bless the remainder stretching from Australia to India.
