Worlds BEST skiers perform in front of huge crowds lined up along the shore line and bridges after the BIG MONDAY HOLIDAY MOOMBA FESTIVAL FLOAT PARADES in the city streets of Melbourne like the (Macy thanxgiving Day parade) ....
New Winners this year with the hail/stormy weather prevailing on Sunday there were a few big upsets with very strong river current/tidal problems !!!
Alot of debri n tree branches were flowing down the slalom n jump course making it difficult to perform well especially in the womens slalom event ...alot of top favoured upsets !
Congratulations to Aussie World team member Cathryn Humprey on her outstanding win at MOOMBAS 50th Anniversary and know u have worked hard training prior to the Worlds in Canada at Mc Cormicks Tampa Florida Usa and in Oz prior to Moomba - well done Capski!!!
(the Yarra River was extremely backwashy and rolly from the Flooding of many streets in the main city ) - not unlike the old days of extra strong currents whisking u down past the dock if u jumped in too early u would get taken down stream fast ...
(hee hee i remember pretty scary stuff to slalom in - not your typical man - made lake still water like at jax /stoneys or bonneys!!! )
