Sorry I didn't comment sooner! I actually really enjoyed these games, despite a few control flaws. A lot of fundamentals were carried over well, it still felt very Castlevania, and had some incredible music.
Just seeing the Virgin Mary statue crying blood towards the end of the game gave me chills.
