STORY:
Fellow golf stars and Spaniards everywhere are sending prayers and best
wishes to Seve Ballesteros after learning the golfing legend has a brain
tumour.
The 51-year-old will undergo a biopsy at Madrid's La Paz hospital.
He was admitted a week ago Sunday after felling dizzy and briefly losing
consciousness.
His compatriot Jose Maria Olazabal visited him the morning after
Ballesteros released a statement confirming the diagnosis and said he
"seemed very well".
In Madrid, shocked residents offered support.
[Silvano, Madrid Resident]:
"I think he will be able to get through this. He is a fighter, a
real fighter, I'm sure he'll get through it."
[Jose Manuel Soris, Madrid Resident]:
"It's very lamentable and sad that a person like him or any other
human being has a tumour of any any kind. I hope he gets better and everything
goes well for him."
Five times a major winner, Ballesteros won a record 50 times on the
European tour before retiring last year because of a long history of back
problems.
In his statement revealing the tumour, Ballesteros said "All my career
I've been one of the best at getting around obstacles on golf courses. And now
I want to be the best, facing the most difficult game of my life."
You are a great man. Good bless you,Seve.
Get well soon, amigo
