Nice description of a trebuchet, but you are not completely correct. A catapult is basically any mechanical device used to throw a projective (without explosives). A trebuchet is a type of catapult. The other device you describe (which uses torsion) is another type of catapult and is sometimes called an onager. A ballista is yet another type of catapult.

thats weird in a "Rich guy trebuchet" or something, his trebuchet hurled the pianos on fire and it exploded.
