The first loco you see is an AC4400 that is just idling (featured in my past videos) but this video is about the new BLI locomotives that my brother and I recently received. First is my "BlueLine" SD40-2 (UP). I installed the decoder and he sounds great, as you can tell! The next is my brother's AC6000 (CSX) which is part of the "Paragon" series. Both are really something, and anyone who has been thinking about getting a Broadway Limited BlueLine locomotive, I can tell you that it is a great buy!!

Sorry for the beeping noise from the controller, I'll make some other videos with my other one that doesn't make any noise at all!

Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy it!

  • Thanks! I'll do that.

  • @stationmaster12 Sure, lemme know if you have any trouble finding another decoder to fit.

  • Hello, Just anted to know what decoder did you use on the SD40. I have that same loco and I'm havine trouble locating a decoder for it. Thanks!!

  • @stationmaster12 I used a Digitrax DCC decoder that is no longer made. I don't remember the number for it, but I do remember when I bought it, the store I got it from told me they were being discontinued.

If you look through the book and BLI's website, they usually reccommend a couple different decoders to use. I'm sure you can get a good one from Train Control Systems.

  • @firebirdman68 Hmmm, I've never experienced that or heard anything about it. Thanks for the info though.

  • the first one cooked itself after a couple of min running , just stopped and buzzed . The second was running and sounding great then started jerking on acceleration and decelaration , then all the time . Im on my second loksound decoder and so far so good only time will tell . I would buy BLI again but not for a few years till there more reliable . I have found a few guys having similiar issues . One guy told me the problem is in the motors themselves , not working well with decoders . will see.

  • @firebirdman68 Really, I never had that trouble with mine. Whay was the issue?

  • @kerethan Yeah, no worries. It does add up, but its cheaper than the DCC loco's. Check out factorydirecttrains(.)com

  • Yeah I have heard some wicked good reviews about it, it sounds amazing and it sounds like it performs the same. Only problem is its not just the cost of the loco, everything else adds up too! Oh well, gotta pay to play I spose!

Thanks for the info, very much appreciated.

  • sound and look great ! but so did my BLI EMD's . The first one lasted 2 minutes the other 2 hours .. I finnally replaced there decoders with a single loksound running both loco's but that was not without its problems .
