  • the m4's suck the m7's are the best.

  • The Metro-North M7As are pretty nice. The LIRR ones seem to be in much worse shape. It appears the LIRR cheap spec'd the M7s, the LIRR units do not have louvered vents on top, no flashing door light, and no padded seat backs.

  • Good video. I used to work wiring and propulsion/dynamic braking on them.

  • @DjHammersBVEStation The upper harlem line also still has diesel trains north of Southeast all the way to the Wassaic station at the end of the line. I usually ride from Pawling directly into grand central. My point is that I ride the harlem quite often & I have never rode on an M7 train, I ride the diesel trains too. They were well built & I hope they last many more years.

  • @segamania0986 No.

The Harlem line (AKA Panzy Line) is full of clunky plastic crap from Japan.

The Upper Hudson Line is the best,

    REAL MEN RIDE DIESELS!

  • The metro north M7 contract was signed by bombardier in 2000. They were in passenger service in 2004. If The lirr m7 appeared in service in 2002, bombardier probably signed their contract in1998-2000

  • LIRR M7's are better than METRO NORTH M7's

  • I love that sound it makes upon acceleration

  • Too bad only the harlem line has all m7s the other metro north trains on the Hudson and New Haven lines SUCK!

The Harlem line has the nicest trains on the mnrr and is by far the most reliable!

  • At least the subway has regular patterns for each time of the day, but Metro-North and LIRR (not least during peak hours) can be completely unpredictable unless you've got a timetable.

  • that's just Metro-North. The NYC Subway is a million times worse

  • I hate the Metro-North stopping patterns, they're so confusing. Maybe one train goes from Scarborough stopping at all to Tarrytown and then all to harlem and GC while another one goes from Poughkeepsie stopping at all to Beacon then Harlem and GC. I'm going to New York on vacation and I intend to visit a few places in the north.

    SO F-CKING COMPLICATED!!!
