Tango Orange ad - fat man (kiss)

The original is elsewhere on YouTube, this is the short lived alternative to the banned 'slap' version before changing it again having the surprised guy running away instead which is a lot funnier once you've seen the slap in the face.

Why didn't they keep the slap one?!

There were about 4 versions to this, it was on "100 greatest TV ad's"

first they were going to punch the guy in the mouth, but they couldnt do that, so it moved to a kick in the rear, that still couldnt be done so it then moved to the Slap but due to a casualty in a playground (some kid got a perforated eardrum from being "Tango'd" right in the ear) and so it got changed to this, sorry just a quick bit of info for anyone who wanted to know ^^

Channel 4 - 2000 - "Top 100 Greatest Ads Ever" - This came 3rd

ITV 1 - 2006 - "IT'VS Best Ads Ever 2" - This came 5th

Me - 2011 - "My favourite Tango adverts" - this comes abut 30th, and this ad is still great - it just goes to show how great Tango are at advertising

@dekuskippy There was a 5th version - made in 1993, after about 10 other non-orangeman Tango adverts had aired. This 5th version had the guy run off when the orange man arrived, and Ralf says "aaww he wasnt supposed to do that!!!". That version is on youtube somewhere and clearly looks like an edit because Tango had changed their cans by then and they re-edited the new can design onto the old one at the end. When the original was voted 5th best ad ever by ITV in 2006, they used the 93 edit

@dekuskippy That was a myth, it wasn't actually banned because school children were mimicking the slap. It was banned because Student Doctors were mimicking the advert, and in one case one person was slapped so hard it blew out there ear drum.

The Doctors ruined the advert for us all.
