Homesteading (29): Sledging on New Year's Day 2012

It has been a very mild winter in Poland so lucky to get this snow. The children loved it and I think they get a lot more fun (and memories) out of old-fashioned simple pursuits like this than a trip to the local shopping centre/mall.

Here in the lower eastern USA has been exceptionally mild....no snow at all and last night was the first night in the upper teens degree-wise. We are entering into the 6 week period of 'if we get any snow at all, it will be at this time" and really then we start into spring-like weather. Good to see you posting again. I've missed seeing anything from your side of the world.  Hope all is well with you and your family. The children are really growing!

@22justus2 Thx for the message. Yes, in winter there's not that much going on here so don't really put up many vids. Can't wait for Spring and to start the seed planting once more. Temps have been down as low at -30 at night here so will be interesting to see if all the plants have survived (which I don't think they will have!).

Happy New Year to you too. Looks like the children have the year off to a good start. It has been unusually warm here too and we don't have any snow. Warm until today that is, it was minus 13 this morning and only warmed up to minus 10 this afternoon.

@dalecalder2003 Thx. Yes, interesting how the two winters have been so similar even though such a large distance between us. If we get some more snow - it has gone already - will definitely be taking them out again.
