Well, Chad waterbury prefers to use 10 sets of 3 reps for hypertrophy. I think the 8-12 thing is a little dogmatic. The good guys in Sydney may disagree.
Indeed it will. However my question was to the good guys in Sydney to why they would directly name the video that way. I guess they no what they are doing. I enjoy their videos. However if they were to do exercises for hypertrophy, as you said it would be in the 8-12 range.
Actually powerlifters train for strength. Olympic lifters train for power. Powerlifters are monsters, usually with lots of fat, but they pack plenty of muscle.
The hypertrophy range is generally accepted as 8-12, but hypertrophy is certainly going to occur at lower rep ranges.
Do you think 1-3 reps doesn't hypertrophy muscles? I've seen some damn big powerlifters who would cringe at the thought of doing over 5 reps of anything.

But you contradict yourself. Powerlifters train for power. They are usually very small compared to bodybuilders who usually train for size.

Why is this video described as hypertrophy with exercises containing 1-3 rep ranges for power/strength?
