This last spring I have started working with two projects in a completely new way. And to me it has become a very inspiring and interesting path to go down.

Artists send me files, often very simple sketches or sctratch versions of a track...Then I add maybe some rhythms and some textures and then I send them back and the artist can sit all snugly and warm and pick and choose what they want to use and what they don't care for too much.

These last couple of days I have been working on a track by a english artist who now lives in Norway. His name is Rhys Marsh and writes really smart and beautiful songs mostly on a nylon stringed guitar. On his last album that will be out this fall I worked on two tracks adding some guitars, mellotrons, orchestron, percussives and small pieces of electronics. A couple of weeks ago I received a package with three new songs. I haven't heard the other two yet as I decided to do one at a time so that they would each get their own treatment. This also means that we can keep a steady work flow sending files back and forth over the swedish/norwegian border.

If you are curious about Rhyss stuff please check out myspace for more info and songs. It is well worth ít.

In this film you can see and hear the very rare Vako Orchestron from the early 70s.

This film was shot at my studio in Sundbyberg just outside of Stockholm. This studio started in my apartment and then I oved to an old abandoned shipyard and started in my own location in 2000. If you are interested in sending files, read my recording blog, booking the studio or just read more about the instruments please stroll by the webpage www.roth-handle.nu It is kind of old and beat up but you might just find something interesting to read and or look at.
I also have a myspace site under the name Molesome where I post random recordings of my own stuff or material I have recorded in the studio.

Thanks for watching,

Mattias
