I am an American trucker who finds Scania very interesting. I met a trucker from New Jersey a few years ago in Tennessee who had a Scania and he loved it. I am seriously considering trying one out myself.

However, I'd try out a Scania in a heartbeat. I've always wondered why we couldn't get more horsepower in American engines without changing parts and codes, when you can get such nice power from the factory in Europe, and get comparable fuel mileage to boot. In the end, a truck is a truck. Some are more suited for certain jobs than others. The Mercedes I'm driving is fine for what it's doing, but in the north american bush it would literally fall apart. Different applications, different trucks.

I have owned and driven trucks in the canadian north for years, and am currently driving truck in Europe. I would love to try out a Scania in Canada, mostly for the power. However, I can see a problem with ground clearance, first of all. Some of the places you have to haul to in the oilfields, for example, you wouldn't get to with any of the trucks pictured here. Too low, too much fairing that could get ripped off, etc. The european truck I'm driving at the moment wouldn't last 3 days over there

Something i dont understand is why on the TV-show Iceroad truckers they are driving in the cold with american trucks.. and they arent made for cold i guess beacuse they have allot of problems with the coler and things.. why dont they use Scania ?? Scania is made for cold winters. they can handle it.. And no i dont hate american trucks i think they look better on their own way.. But still i like Scania more
