What doesnt make sense to me is why are Kina and Nicci singing the adlibs at the beginning of the song but then lip sync the chorus? lol I know this is TOTP that's just foolish, en vogue performed whatever and sang the whole song live... they could have done it love and would havbe killed it, too!

@DrJ2012 I'm not sure, TOTP's is a funny one. I think with En Vogue it is because they refused to mime so they had to sing live. Brownstone are more than capable singing live, especially with Kina so they should have done the whole thing live.

It's just one of those myths I guess.

Its because it is top of the pops and they prefered people to not even sing live, I would have loved to hear the backgrounds live as well tho cos they would have blown it out of the water!

nicci and maxee's vocals are so POWERFUL during this performance! but it's to be expected though, because after all they are BROWNSTONE.

@jayjay1048 I think it's more so because Brownstone had such a unique sound when they blended their vocals. It was almost iconic of them. So when you add Kina's voice in, it changes that iconic sound into something not recognizable. Doesn't mean it's bad, just people won't listen and think, That's Brownstone!

@DrJ2012 it's only 3 of them, en vogue had 4. which means while the lead singer is singing, only 2 would be singing bgv. you wouldn't have the same effect with 2 notes out of a chord. en vogue could give you the full chord with 1 person singing lead.

Kina had an alternative rock album and it was good. We need to support our people in all genres. Her song "Girl from the Gutter", "Me", and "I Love you" are good songs that BET, MTV, and other almost ignored. We as people shrive for acceptance in diversity when it comes to race we should be open to different genres as well. If Kina's album would have came out in 2010 she would have won a Grammy. Period.
