This was a debate recently held on Sky News regarding sunbed use and links to skin cancer.
What I find interesting is the doctor's insistence that no one should ever go out in sunlight or use a sunbed. I wonder if he drinks alcohol ever? Would he then also say there is no safe level of alcohol to drink?
This argument comes down to one thing. Teaching people how to use the sun/sunbeds responsibly, just the same as we do for consumption of alcohol.
how can we avoid tanning if the Earth moves around the sun and the sun actually is the source of life for our living beings on this Planet?Healthy pale skin in victorian times?what about us Brazilians? It is actually impossible to live in Brasil avoiding the sun.The point is,like Mark says, not to hide away from sun completely but learn how to live with it responsibly. And having a few gradual sessions of tanning before going on holiday to a hot country is safer than going with a white ghosty skin.
