Honda Motor Company unveiled its second experimental walking assist device that helps support bodyweight to reduce the load on an individuals legs while walking, going up and down stairs, and in a semi-crouching position. The device is designed for people who are capable of walking and maneuvering on their own, but who can benefit from additional leg and body support while performing tasks. Honda will now begin testing the device in real-world conditions to evaluate its effectiveness.

The fact that it looks like nothing has happened shows how brilliant it is. This thing is pushing -- it's supporting his body weight. The fact that he can walk around naturally, even climb stairs, without being thrown onto his ass by an inappropriate input from the robotic legs is amazing. There's well over a decade's worth of research in this thing.

I like to the point that it can help any personnel working with heavy things, just like those factory workers that was dealing with TV frames, Restaurant waiters with the stack of plates could make good use of it to support the weight, the personnel that deals with the Coca Cola cases/Beer cases, or the guys that prepares the chairs for a 500 pax dinner .. lots of good uses for this product!

To put things into plain English, your knees were never created to support the weight of your body. At least not without a few destructive consequences (arthritis).

This device is designed so it reduce the stress on your knees. Try bunny-hopping for a long period of time and you'll see why humans need such a marvel.
