Occupy Wall Street, in solidarity with organized labor and the 99% around the world, has called for a day of non-violent civil disobedience to reject the economy that divides us and rebuild an economy that works for all. We will resist the banks and the government they control, reclaim our democracy, and recreate the society we want to see.
The Occupy Portland Action Committee is calling for all members of the 99% to form small groups of friends to carry out decentralized yet-coordinated non-violent civil disobedience against big banks in the Portland area.
They have foreclosed on our homes, they have consolidated wealth into the hands of few, they have created financial collapse, they have funded the destruction of our communities and environment and on November 17th, we will shut them down!
Spread the word. Gather your friends. Plan your action. Be Creative. Join the spokes council. Occupy the Banks.
There will be a march for people who do not want to risk arrest.
The N17 spokes council will organize trainings on non-violent civil disobedience and coordinate logistics between affinity groups.
We will collaborate closely with Occupy the Bridge and organized labor in Portland.
