Death Tower

A man died up on this tower yesterday while changing the light bulbs in the hazard warning lights on the tower. No word yet on the cause of death and the Bonita Springs Fire Rescue department was responsible for bringing the man down off the tower. Monday December 27,2011

An autopsy has now revealed that the man on the tower died from electrocution while changing the light bulbs in the tower's warning lights. He was at the 750 foot level, which is three quarters of the way to the top, when he lost radio contact with his ground person. A spokes person for the Bonita Springs Fire Rescue said that the tower was swaying as much as foot in moderate to high winds and that it took four hours to bring the deceased man down to the ground.
