  • I hope you aren't thinking I am advocating a new style of picking here. I am not. Bluegrass is difficult to play and far too many people give up the challenge...by showing an easy way to play a cool lick or two, it may help more people keep an interest and continue playing. That's my one and only goal. As they get into it, they'll figure out that there is W A Y more to it than this.

  • First of all thanks from all of us for your tremendous sacrifice on our behalf. Music is one of the most incredible healing therapies in the world. It make me feel great that this helped to get you back out there and pick up your guitar. There is nothing like playing music to make you feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally. Kudos to you!

  • where do you get tabs

  • @SuperJohncenarko

I don't have any tabs written out...That's a little over my head at this point. Sorry.

  • banjo - guitar. very different, I wouldn't even try to compare the two.

  • I play bluegrass banjo, and i would like to know how different guitar is to banjo, in bluegrass?

    I don't play in a band :(

  • @geomapher

you can use either middle finger or forefinger...just try to determine the one that is the most efficient to use...where you move around as little as possible...I use a 2mm pick...the thick picks have a better pop to them than the others. Wegan is my brand and I use the triangle bluegrass picks.

  • playing by ear is way more intuitive and fun than trying to follow a formulaic method, at least for me.

    NO TABS FOREVER!

  • I love this lesson because it's nice, easy licks, but also the guy teaching sounds exactly like a bluegrass type of guy :)
