Via The Huffington Post: "For 20th Century Fox, the upcoming Ben Stiller comedy "Neighborhood Watch" just got a bit more serious. Following the tragic death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, the studio has pulled posters for the film and the teaser trailer from Florida theaters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The teaser poster will get replaced nationwide with a new poster in the coming weeks...".* Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur break it down.

Also there was an ad for the first Spider Man movie where he had made a web between the twin towers. ;)

It's an issue of historical continuity. You can't talk about Neighborhood Watch, the police, the courts, or any other institution, in terms of its reason for being in 2012, without understanding what its predecessors were like. You can't talk about labor struggles now without understanding Lawrence, MA, 1912. You can't talk about war and imperialism now without talking about WWI. You're right that so much has changed, so we have to figure out what's changed, what's stayed the same, why, and how.

Birth of a Nation by Griffith. It came out in the 1910's. If you adjust for inflation, it's still one of the best selling Hollywood films ever made, along with Gone with the Wind, which glorifies slave-holders. I highly recommend you watch it. It actually inspired the rebirth of the Klan, which had been dying.
