This is one part of movie files extracted from edutainment software First Person: Stephen Jay Gould on Evolution (1995).
This particular title features a 5-part lecture by the late Harvard evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould, as well as some of his related essays and Charles Darwin's book The Origin of Species.

1. Introduction
2. Riddle One: Who was the Naturalist on Board The Beagle?
3. Riddle Two: Why Didn't Darwin Use the Word "Evolution"?
4. Riddle Three: Why Did Darwin Delay So Long in Publishing His Theories?
5. Conclusion

The First Person edutainment series was published by The Voyager Company, unfortunately the series was short-lived and, as far as I know, is no longer supported. Which is a shame as this is a very fascinating lecture, and I hope to preserve it by uploading the lecture movies into Youtube.

  • Dr. Gould was possibly the most brilliant and prolific evolutionist since Darwin.

  • @EdMahoney19 there is no fossil record to support evolution? Do you realise what you said there? Wow

  • @MergGates1 I didn't know him personally, but i find that to be presumptuous.

  • @3ohs0unds And the most narcissistic.

  • He signed his article on why we should appreciate High School Biology teachers in Natural History for me years ago. He was at U. of Kansas to discuss his book Mismeasure of Man, but I think he seemed more pleased that I would have read his article than purchased his book. A brilliant and remarkable human being.

  • I was born on november 24th:D

  • This dude was great on The Simpsons.

  • forget about fossil records. molecular genetics tell the whole story. read Richard Dawkins' "The Ancestor's Tale" for details.

  • @EdMahoney19 If you don't know any science, you will not believe in evolution.

so...who are these prominent doubting scientists?
